Play a round of mini golf, support children's museum

Aug 01, 2014
Play a round of mini golf the weekend of Aug. 23-24 and help support Rockland's Coastal Children's Museum.

Rockport — The Coastal Children’s Museum is teaming up with Golfer’s Crossing for a fun Family Mini Golf fundraiser.

Throughout the entire weekend of Aug. 23-24 any player who completes a round of golf with a special coupon, Golfer’s Crossing will donate $2 to the museum making it easy to golf for a good cause.

The museum will be setting up shop all weekend at Golfer’s Crossing, located at 7 Country Inn Way in Rockport, so golfers can learn more about the museum and purchase tickets for a special raffle, which includes such prizes as a two- hour cruise on the schooner Summertime, nine holes for two people at Goose River Golf Course, lunch for two at Blue Sky Cantina, gift certificates from local stores, and grand prize of a free birthday party at the Coastal Children’s Museum.

“This is a fun and feasible way for families to come and enjoy a brilliant day out while supporting us at the same time,“ said museum Program and Outreach Coordinator Megan Rogers in a news release. “All anyone needs to do to help out is just pick up a coupon for everyone in the family and then play a fun game of mini golf, what could be easier.”

Funds raised from this event will go toward the upkeep and development of the more than 30 hands-on exhibits in the museum, the year-long programming calendar and to bolster the museum’s Pauline Archer Scholarship Fund.

Families and supporters can pick up coupons at the museum or collect them at the museum’s table at Golfer’s Crossing where families can purchase raffle tickets before the drawing Sunday, Aug. 24.
