Plant sale at Rockland's UU church

Apr 15, 2014

Rockland — Members of the First Universalist Church are inspecting their gardens for unique as well as beloved heirloom plantings.

The plant sale will be Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to noon at the church, 345 Broadway (Route 1A), Rockland (behind the church in the large parking lot).

Hatchet Cove Farm has once again offered to start annual vegetable seedlings for the congregation to sell. The best and most unique part about this is that these seedlings are organic — very difficult to find at the local garden centers, big box stores and road-side stands. Members, friends, and neighbors gardens are being perused and cleaned up for summer, resulting in lots of divisions, large and small, ready for adoption. There will also be a variety of houseplants.

To donate plants or garden furniture (benches, sculpture, bird baths etc.) call 594-8750 or send an email to mail@uurockland.org.
