Pick this Daisy at Pope animal shelter

Daisy

Our pet pick of the week is Daisy, a 1-year-old Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mix. Even at such a young age, she has already had a litter of puppies and spent a great deal of her life in a crate. She is ready to blossom in a home of her own. Daisy can be very shy at first meeting, but warms up quickly with familiarity. She is good with other dogs and cats. Because of her shy nature, we recommend a home with older children as the little ones might scare her. Pick this Daisy, nurture her with love and patience and you’ll have a wonderful pet.

On May 24, the Aldersgate United Methodist Church of Rockland hosted a public supper for the shelter and raised a wonderful $433.50 to help us provide food and shelter for the animals in our care. We sincerely appreciate the generosity of the Aldersgate church members and community who participated in this supper. Thank you!

Save the date: Our Whisker Walk Family Fun Day & 5K is set for Saturday, Sept. 13 at Harbor Park in Rockland and we're busy planning to make it bigger and better than ever. We can use your help. We're looking for volunteers to join our Whisker Walk event team. We'll work together to plan, organize and bring the event to life. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this fun-filled, lifesaving event! Contact Grace to learn how at events@hskcme.org or call 691-4930.

Is your Fido Mr. December? There is still time to get your pets photo in our 2015 Calendar. The coveted Cover Shot is taken but we still have some Glamour Shots where you'll have the pleasure of seeing your pet’s full page sized photo for an entire month with accompanying sidebar story where you can gush about your pet. Or maybe the very affordable Tail Wagger Shot, a photo featured on a month date space, is more your style. You'll also receive a complimentary 2015 Calendar to show off to your friends and family. They make great holiday gifts too at just $10. Don't miss out on this fun way to help homeless animals in our community. Submission forms are at hskcme.org or pick one up at the shelter. We also have advertising opportunities. Email calendar@hskcme.org with any questions.
