Pets Make a Difference raffle at Thomaston shelter
Did you know that 57 percent of American households today own either a dog or a cat, according to the American Humane Society.
Although dog households outnumber cat households, there are more cats (64.1million) than dogs (63.8 million) in the United States That's because cat owners tend to have more cats than dog owners have dogs. You know who you are. Eighty percent of dog and cat owners surveyed claimed that their pets could sense their moods. And three in four believed their dogs tried to make them feel better when they were unhappy. It's no surprise to us that nine in ten pet owners say they consider their pet to be a loved and cherished member of the family.
We want to hear about how special your pet is to you? We are offering a raffle called Pets Make A Difference. Entering is free and open to all. All entries must be in by Oct. 31. To learn more visit hskcme.org or stop by the shelter or one of several display locations at local businesses. We can't wait to hear your stories.
Our pet pick of the week is Grover. Grover is a very confident, 4-year-old Chihuahua. With Grover you get the best of both worlds — a big dog personality in a small dog body. Grover is a very people friendly dog, preferring to be the center of attention. He would be happiest in a home where he didn't have to share adoration with any other pets in the house. Grover wants to be your one and only. If you're looking for a pint-sized, lovable co-pilot then come meet Grover.
