Waldoboro — Waldoboro Family Medicine is accepting new patients and would like to introduce their newest member to the Midcoast community: board-certified, nurse practitioner Elizabeth Steward.

Steward received her Master of Science in Nursing at Regis College in Weston, Mass. Prior to moving to Maine, she provided medical care to adult, pediatric and maternity patients at the Veterans Affairs Hospital, Bedford, Mass. and Brigham & Women's Hospital and Children’s Hospital, both in Boston. She is an experienced cytotechnologist, medical lab technician and pharmacy technician.

Steward’s approach to medicine is straight forward and practical. As a family nurse practitioner, she said in a news release, "I believe medical practice is a partnership between the provider and the patient. I emphasize patient education and patient participation in their healthcare decisions."

Now a Maine resident, she enjoys the coastal Maine lifestyle with access to beaches and mountains all within a short drive. Steward’s hobbies include hiking, snowshoeing and kayaking, as well as nature photography and gardening.

Certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Steward, joins colleagues Ted Mohlie, MD, Kevin Davey, MD, Jack Waterman, MD and Nichole Kelley, FNP. Waldoboro Family Medicine is located at 27 Mill St., Waldoboro. For more information, call 832-5291 or visit penbayhealthcare.org.
