Party like a pirate at Coastal Children's Museum
Rockland — Party like a pirate Saturday, Aug. 9, from 11 a.m. to noon at Coastal Children’s Museum.
Capt. Sassy Sally Shaw, a.k.a. Sally Lobkowicz, will share her saucy sailor ways as children will be immersed in all things pirate. After everyone is dressed to impress with a special crafty hat, eye patch and hook (even a mustache or two,) they will be playing games that all the pirates love like Musical Islands, Pin the X on the Treasure Map, Pirate Overboard and more.
A teacher with more than 30 years of experience, and a seasoned genealogy researcher, Lobkowicz has taken her love for learning and directed it into the world of mysteries — haunted mansions, pirate hide-outs, lost treasures, legendary creatures, undiscovered history and more. She can be seen in her distinctive red cloak as she leads her Haunted History Tours in Rockland, Camden, Damariscotta Wiscasset, Bath, Boothbay Harbor and Hallowell. When she puts on her cockade and tri-corner hat she becomes Capt. Sassy Sally Shaw and she sails with the Pirates of the Dark Rose out of Rockport as they bring mirth and mayhem to harbors along the coast.
The activities and games at the Pirate Party will be geared toward children between 5 and 9 years old, but older and younger children will be welcomed with open arrrrh-ms.
Open to visitors of the museum this workshop is included in the price of admission and free for members. The Coastal Children’s Museum is located in Sharp’s Point South, 75 Mechanic St. in Rockland.
