Parkinson's support group to hear about advocate program June 6

May 12, 2017

Camden — Attendees will have an opportunity to learn how Parkinson’s patients can participate in the management of their condition at the next Parkinson’s Support Group meeting, June 6, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Anderson Inn, 30 Community Drive.

All those living with Parkinson’s, as well as their families and caregivers, are invited to take part.

The meeting will feature a presentation by Margarita Llibre Rogers of the Abbvie Parkinson’s Disease Advocate program, a service available at no charge to patients diagnosed with Parkinson’s and those who help care for them.

Rogers will explain how Parkinson’s disease advocates help patients and carers understand Parkinson’s, prepare for conversations with physicians, and identify additional health care professionals who can provide assistance and support.

Attendees are encouraged to bring bag lunches, with Quarry Hill providing beverages and desserts.

For more information about the Parkinson’s Support Group, call Cassie Walters, 596-3978.
