Panthers sink Shipbuilders on links for first win
Rockland — The Medomak Valley golf team may have only five student-athletes on its roster, but success is measured in wins, not in total participants.
In that respect, the Panthers (1-0) started their season in style, besting Morse of Bath with a nine-hole, four-golfer stroke total of 193 to 227 on Friday afternoon, Aug. 30 at the Rockland Golf Club.
Medomak Valley senior Adam Wilcox earned medalist shooting 46 for nine holes.
The individual results, with Panther golfers listed first, were: Wilcox (46) beat Wes McKenna (61); Aaron Smeltzer (50) beat Evan Parsons (55); Tyler Emerson (47) beat Matt Fontanez (55); J.P. Lobley (50) beat Pat McKenna (60); and Cam Allaire (65) lost to Andrew Lacavera (58). Colin Bradford also shot 59 for the Shipbuilders.
