Paint(ing) the Town thanks
Waldoboro — The morning of Aug. 18 started out dark and drizzly, but more than 40 dedicated artists set up their umbrellas or turned their cars into portable studios to paint local landscapes for Waldoboro’s seventh annual Paint the Town fresh-art auction.
Plans and preparations for the event started early in the year with the hope that the third Saturday in August would bring good weather and it did arrive, only a couple of hours late. From dawn until dark, dozens of volunteers worked together to make it an enjoyable and profitable event for the artists, the community service organizations, sponsors, auction bidders and for Waldoboro itself.
Special thanks go from the organizers to the members of the Medomak Valley Community Foundation, Medomak Valley Land Trust, Waldoboro Lions, Waldoboro Public Library and Kaja Veilleux of Thomaston Place Auction Galleries.
