Paddle the Meduncook River, visit Camp Friendship

Paddle the Meduncook River Thursday, July 10 with Medomak Valley Land Trust.

Friendship — The Medomak Valley Land Trust will host a paddle on the Meduncook River in Friendship Thursday, July 10, at 9 a.m.

All canoeists and kayakers are invited to paddle along a scenic stretch of the Meduncook River. The trip, led by outdoor guide Bill Michaud, will depart from the boat ramp on Bradford Point Road in Friendship. The trip will include a stop at Crotch Island to have lunch with the campers at Camp Friendship, which hosts children ages 8-13 from New York City each summer for a Maine wilderness experience.

Participants should provide their own boat and life preserver, and paddlers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. This will be an intermediate level paddle.

To get there from Waldoboro, head south on 220 for 9.3 miles, then turn left onto ME-97/Main St. and then take a right onto Bradford Point Road.
