P.A.W.S: Terrific companions
Millie is a 5-1/2-year-old pointer mix looking to point her way into your home. Or, even better, have you walk in and point to her and say, “That’s the girl for me!” Who could resist that sweet, funny face? Millie loves people and is eager to learn a trick or two. She enjoys walking or going on hikes, sitting in your lap and playing with her toys. (No, not at the same time.) Millie’s ideal home would be one without cats or big dogs; they scare her. She’s very alert and responsive and would make a terrific companion for older children
Simon is a 5- to 6-year-old Siamese looking for a home. As you can see, he is a handsome, self-assured gentleman who is as sweet as he is good-looking (none of that Siamese hoity-toityness for him, thank you very much!) and would make an excellent lap cat. Simon says, "Please stop in and make my acquaintance. You’ll be glad you did."
Have you visited our website lately? You can find information on all our wonderful dogs and cats who are waiting for fur-ever homes, meet our excellent, hard-working staff, learn about the organization and buy a T-shirt to show you support PAWS and its work. Make sure you bookmark pawsadoption.org and keep in-the-know about what’s going on at PAWS.
Wish list for the week: Nylabones and squeaky toys for the dogs, catnip for the cats and, as always, non-clumping cat litter, paper towels, dish soap and laundry detergent. Thank you (as always too) for your support. We couldn’t do it without you.
Let a little sunshine into this cold, gray January by coming in and spending some time with our residents. Did you hear about the recent studies that show that cats think of people as bigger cats? We’re amazed that they would think about people at all (dogs have owners; cats have staff). No, actually, we don’t espouse that old shibboleth. All the cats we’ve known — and we’ve known a lot — have been loving, kind, obedient (well, maybe not all of them. In fact, a very small minority, if you must know) and devoted to their people or person, especially at meal time. Stop and think for a moment about the joy your dog(s) and/or cat(s) bring into your life. You are lucky indeed to have such wonderful companions.
So cock a snoot at January and stop over to meet all our gorgeous girls and boys at the shelter at 146 Camden St. in Rockport. We’re open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, our phone number is 236-8702 and pawsadopotion.org is never closed. And please don’t forget to like us on Facebook. Thank you, as always, for your caring and support. You are wicked good friends.
