P.A.W.S: Help Cleo slim down
Cleo needs all of us to help her. During the three years she has been here, she has turned into a emotional eater. She eats when new cats are put in her room, she eats when she’s being petted and she eats just because the food is there — and she has gone from a svelte six pounds to a pudgy 15. Cleo needs someone who will wave a laser light around so she can chase it, dangle strings for her to attack or scatter catnip for her to roll in. Mostly, though, she needs someone to monitor her food intake and make sure she isn’t eating more than she should. To help her, we are waiving her adoption fee and making sure she leaves with a bag of weight-loss food that will help her. She has had a physical by our vet and is all set to begin her journey. If you think you can help Cleo, please stop by to meet this beautiful girl.
We know from experience how hard it is to lose weight. And it’s especially hard for Cleo because she is in a room with other cats and there is no place to feed her separately so her food intake can be monitored. We know, too, that some of you are facing the same challenges that Cleo has. Why not try a team diet? Perhaps a race to a new weight goal? Team exercise and diet? It’s always easier to reach a goal with help from friends — and Cleo will never be judgmental or discouraging if you stray a little, or even a lot. She’ll have your back, and you’ll have hers.
Cleo is seven years old. She enjoys looking out the window, and she gets brushed weekly. In a quiet home where she is the center of attention, she will thrive. Thank you for giving this some thought.
On our wish list: paper towels, laundry soap, dish soap, peanut butter, catnip and dog and cat toys.
Please take the time to drop by and see us and all our beautiful babes at 146 Camden St. in Rockport. We’re open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, our phone number is 236-8702 and pawsadoption.org is never closed! And thank you, as always, for your caring and support.
