P.A.W.S: Find your fur-ever friend
Here it is in black and white: Until June 14, all black or black-and-white (should be better known as chiaroscuro) cats and kittens are available at a half-price adoption fee! At present we have 14 adorable black or black-and-white kittens — three have been here for at least three weeks already — that want nothing more than to grow up in a home. Kittens need to be running around a home, sleeping close to their owners and watching the birds from a window, and these kittens would be over the moon if they could be your fur-ever friend.
Does Urban look some surprised? That’s because he can’t believe, and neither can we, that he and his three sibs are still unclaimed — especially because they all have extra toes on their front paws. And is that you he appears to have caught a glimpse of? Don’t let him down. Make him yours today, or tomorrow at the latest.
Nor will we forget the adult cats who want homes just as much as our kittens do. We have 17 adult cats who are black or black-and-white who will tell you that they have been waiting for a home of their own for years. We can’t show you photos of all of them — of course you are very welcome to stop in and see them for yourself — but if you are looking for a lap cat, then Tristan is mos' def your guy. This friendly gentleman would love to have a lap to sit on. He’d be a wonderful addition to any home and gets along famously with other cats. Tristan and a couple of his siblings came to PAWS when his owner moved into an assisted-living home. He was very shy at first, but those days are long gone. He is the first to greet you when you enter his room, and he’ll be the one to stay with you until you are ready to leave. This gentle, lovely guy deserves a chance to love and be loved again, and we’re crossing our fingers and toes that his time for a home is just around the corner.
With a room full of kittens, we really need: Purina Kitten Chow, non-clumping cat litter, canned cat food and cat toys. We’re also running low on paper towels, bleach and laundry detergent. Thank you a hundred times for your caring and kindness.
Do you know why August is called the dog days? It’s because Sirius, the dog star, is in the ascendant that month. We’re not sure there is a cat star, but we do know that our cats are stars 24/7 for 365 days a year. You could see for yourself here at 146 Camden St. in Rockport. We’re open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, our phone number is (207) 236-8702 and our website at pawsadoption.org is never closed! And thank you, as always, for your caring and support.
