Hope — An Owls Head man remains in jail Thursday, Dec. 27, after an alleged hit and run in Hope shortly before 9 p.m. Christmas night.

Police arrested Jeffrey Dorr, 31, at the scene of the incident, which occurred on private property, according to information provided by Knox County Sheriff Donna Dennison. Dorr was allegedly arguing with another man about a debt of property or money and a 29-year-old female was present at the scene of the argument, police said. According to Dennison, the female was struck by a small, silver car operated by Dorr sometime during the course of the incident.

The female was transported by Union Ambulance to Penobscot Bay Medical Center complaining of pain in her shoulder and her right side, Dennison said in an email.

Dorr was arrested and charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon (the vehicle) and violation of conditions of release, according to police reports. He was transported to Knox County Jail where he remained at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27.

Knox County Sheriffs Deputy Nathaniel Jack and Sgt. James Moore responded to the incident.
