Orthodontics at age 7?

As parents, we are all trying to do what is best for our children. One of the ways we can help is taking them to see the orthodontist at age 7. This is recommended by the American Association of Orthodontists, to reduce the amount of oral treatment they may need later on. You may be saying, my child hasn’t even lost all their teeth, but that doesn’t matter, early orthodontic appointments may prevent problems that are caused by growth related issues such as narrow jaws, jaws growing too fast or too slow or bite issues. These types of problems are best treated during the younger years before all permanent teeth come in. Studies show in the last 25 years, orthodontists have reduced the necessity for extracting healthy permanent teeth by 95% when treating a child early.

The initial exam can be a helpful way to get a clear idea about you or your child's orthodontic needs, we offer this exam at no charge. Although a referral is not required for consultation appointments, we will work directly with your family dentist to assure cooperative comprehensive care. We will present you with treatment options, an approximation of treatment time, an estimate of the cost, and answer any questions.
