Friday September 21 from 1-3pm on "Ordinary People," with Ginger Wilson
Jan Bisbee from Kids-Kin. Kids-Kin is a group that helps out relatives of children that have taken them into their homes instead of letting them go into the foster care system. They run groups around the state and help where they can. They are mostly referrel based (they have social workers that help with referring to the appropriate sources for help) but have some resources themselves that they use to help out the families. The social workers are a great resource for the families. The Foster care system here in Maine very rarely helps the relatives with services when they take the kids in their families who are taken away from their parents. This org. helps to advocate. It is open to anyone raising a kid who is a relation. (aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, grandparents, etc). They have group meetings all over the state.
Also on the same day
Cash Mob organizer Gordon Orme- he will be on the show from 2:30-3:00 talking about the upcoming Cash Mob Rokland. I went on the first one and it was so much fun (we will be talking about the 2nd one). I will be going on the next one and we will be talking about both on the show. The next Cash Mob is September 27 at 5p.m.
