RSU 13 plans to merge all middle school students (grades 5-7) now attending Thomaston Grammar, Owls Head Central and Rockland District Middle School into one school at RDMS.

I do agree with keeping kids in their own community, for the most part. As for walking, that's ridiculous. Buy or lease more busses as necessary.

Take education away from the State. Get rid of all the mandates. Put the kids back in the communities they live in. Make them walk a reasonable distance to school. We walked and survived. One might think youth is smarter today but the work ethic has suffered.
