Online career planning class available

Sep 15, 2012

Women, Work and Community is offering Career Planning -- Live and Online the weeks of Oct. 15 to Nov. 28. The hybrid course will consist of two live class meetings and participants will have the option to attend in Rockland, Belfast, or Augusta. Registration by Sept. 26 is required so online accounts can be set up.

There is no cost to participants for the program and it is open to both women and men of all backgrounds.

Participants will identify their interests, skills, financial needs and values, and connect them to career paths in the local economy. They will learn about up-and-coming career fields and educational options with information about how to pay for them. They will have the opportunity to create a personal action plan for the next steps in developing their career.

Students will need access to high-speed Internet either at home or at a local library or school in order to do the online sections. To find out the dates, times, and locations of the live sessions, visit womenworkandcommunity.org under the Midcoast region.

To register, call Linda Buckmaster at 596-2615 or email lsbuck@maine.edu.
