OHS lacrosse biathlon Dec. 8 benefits program, Red Cross

Event raises money for Mariner girls team, hurricane disaster relief

Thomaston — The Oceanside High School girls lacrosse squad will host a fundraising biathlon on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 8:30 a.m.

The event will include a 4-kilometer (2.5-mile) run and a crossfit workout circuit, coached by Jason and Teel Foster of Crossfit Crossover.

Twenty-five percent of the proceeds from the event will benefit Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy disaster relief.

The 4K start will be on Pendleton Field at Oceanside West in Thomaston. The crossfit workouts will be in the school gymnasium following the run.

Single participants and two-person relay teams are allowed to participate in the event. The cost is $20 for a single racer and $35 for a two-person team.

Race day registration will close at 8:15 a.m.

One can preregister by calling Mariner lacrosse coach Angela Vachon at 542-2720 or email her at fittrainrun@roadrunner.com. The first 75 paid registrants will receive an inaugural race t-shirt.

There will be awards for the first through third male and female individuals and first through third relay teams.
