O'Donnell, Stevenson fastest in sixth 'Summer Run For Fun' eventProgram has attracted 62 Midcoast athletes this season
Waldoboro — The Medomak Valley High School cross-country program's third annual "Summer Run For Fun" program has continued for six weeks, with runners in various age groups participating in the latest event on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at the school.
There were 25 participants in various age groups that day and 62 Midcoast athletes have competed in the series this season.
The individual results for the 2.995-mile trail (3-loop) course for Aug. 14 were: 1, Pat O’Donnell, 18:41; 2, Karen Stevenson, 23:46; 3, Steve Frampton, 23:47; 4, John Leach, 24:03; 5, Carol Manley, 24:23; 6, Dennis Smith, 24:59; 7, Tara DeLisle, 26:18; 8, Patty Leach, 26:41; 9, Sullivan Anderson, 31:43; 10, Riley DeLisle, 31:45; 11, Ellen Spring, 32:12; 12, Tami Casas, 33:28; and 13, Laurie McBurnie, 40:58.
The individual results for the 2.016-mile (2-loop) course for Aug. 14 were: 1, Acadia Calderwood, 17:28; 2, Gabe Lash, 18:25; 3, Abby Lash, 19:11; 4, Alexys Schaeffer, 28:09; and 5, Grace Buttrick, 29:50.
The individual results for the 1.037-mile (1-loop) course for Aug. 14 were: 1, Finnegan Calderwood, 10:06; 2, Max Burrick, 17:11; 3, Hunter Buttrick, 17:12; and 4, Holly Buttrick, 17:16.
Injured or walkers: Chris DeLisle, Mariam DeLise and George Gould.
Whether a seasoned runner or beginner, there will be a weekly cross-country challenge for all ages this summer at the school.
Participants will gather for weekly runs. The top five weekly finishers in each division will earn points toward a season total. Awards will be presented to the top-five finishers in each group (scoring on 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points system) based on season results.
The program, held at 6 p.m., continues each Wednesday through Aug. 21.
The fee is $15 and registration may be done before each race.
Runs are on the Neil W. Lash Nature Trail and Medomak Valley campus.
