October programs at Rockland CareerCenter
Rockland — Rockland CareerCenter is offering many programs in October for job seekers and those who are considering training to upgrade their skills to increase their employability this spring.
All businesses looking to hire and people looking for work should register with the Maine Job Bank. This month the Job Bank has more than 7,000 job openings. There is no cost to create a profile.
Workshops and events are held at the CareerCenter unless otherwise noted. Maine Veterans receive priority of service in all CareerCenter programs.
GATEways to Employment — Tuesday, Oct. 15, 9 a.m. to noon. Designed to help one jumpstart their work search with the latest tips and tools to conduct a successful job search in today’s labor market.
Resume and Cover Letter Writing — Wednesday, Oct. 16, 9 a.m. to noon. Shows the basics of how to evaluate or create an effective resume and cover letter.
Effective Interviewing Skills — Wednesday, Oct. 23, 9 a.m. to noon. Dedicated to exploring proper interviewing techniques and tips.

Goodwill Workforce Solutions administers federally funded employment and training programs through the Workforce Investment Act. Certain eligibility requirements apply. Interested parties are required to attend an orientation session to learn about their training options. Please call 596-2600 to reserve a seat in the next session.
Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community offer no-cost classes in Assertive Communication, Creating Your Future, Creating the Rest of Your Life, Credit Yourself, Entrepreneurial Training, Financing Your Future, Professional Development and Mature Worker Activities.
