Oceanside to hold Career Day May 16
Rockland — All career fairs are not created equal, and the one being held by Jobs for Maine’s Graduates at Oceanside High School East Friday, May 16 is proof.
Sure, there will be businesses and colleges promoting their programs and services, but that is just the beginning. At the Oceanside Career Day, from 8:15 to 11 a.m., 450 to 500 students, from freshman to seniors, will get to choose from a smorgasbord of career-related workshops. Students interested in social media will hear from the folks at Dream Local, a startup social media marketing firm; anyone leaning toward the healthcare field can spend time with staff from Pen Bay Medical Center; and biotech wannabes can meet up with a scientist and manager from Lonza, a company that manufactures products for life science research.
When they’re not in a workshop, students will graze for information at the event’s Career and College Expo where they can talk with more than 40 Maine businesses, colleges and organizations.
