"As the Oceanside team continues their work towards full team trust, quick release for a pass and picking up the offensive threat on defense, today's game versus a tough Lincoln Academy team was a great test for our games to come," said Mariner coach Angie Vachon.

The coach added, "We had seven assisters and eight scorers in today’s game versus the Eagles. Of note was the confidence of Rebekah Freeman and playing her space on the field with much intelligence and Janelle Fowlie with her work behind the cage and her choice selection of feeds to the cutters."

For Lincoln Academy, Ashley Mason netted three goals; Kaely Lewis, two; and Isabel Carlson, Tess Fields and Katie Riley, all one. Bayley Pendleton made nine saves in net.
