Rockland — Oceanside High School hosted the Symphonic Band from the University of Maine at Orono April 3 for a school-day concert in the auditorium of Oceanside East.

The UMO Symphonic Band, under the direction of Christopher White, performed for nearly 500 students from across RSU 13. As one of the finest collegiate bands in New England, the band’s presence offered a wonderful opportunity for the district’s band students to witness a professional group and see what can be achieved with time and practice.

The following day, the UMaine band took the ferry to spend time with the students of Vinalhaven School.
