Rockland — Due to Mother Nature's continued crazy, wet spirit throughout the spring, the Oceanside boys tennis team's Eastern Class B quarterfinal playoff match, scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, has been postponed.

The No. 2 Mariners (12-0) were to host No. 10 Waterville (7-6) at 4 p.m. on the Oceanside East campus courts in Rockland on June 4.

However, persistent rain forced the match to be moved to Friday, June 6 at 3 p.m. indoors at the Central Lincoln County YMCA in Damariscotta. Originally, the makeup match was to be at noon.

Waterville beat No. 7 Caribou (9-4) 3-2 in a prelim playoff to earn the right to play Oceanside, which also won the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B title this spring. Earlier in the regular season, the Mariners beat the Purple Panthers 4-1.

If Oceanside beats Waterville, the No. 6 Erskine Academy and No. 3 Mount Desert Island winner on Saturday, June 7 at 2 p.m. on the courts at Oceanside East.
