Occupational therapist to address Midcoast MS group

Rockland — The May meeting of Keep S’myelin will be held Thursday, May 1, at 11:30 a.m. at Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care and Hospice at 170 Pleasant St.

An awareness group for those with multiple sclerosis, their caregivers, and friends, Keep S’myelin is affiliated with the Greater New England Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Brian Downing is an occupational therapist who will speak to the group about maintaining independence and safety while still living in their own homes. Adaptations can be a very affordable solution and range from minor modifications to major renovations. Downing is the owner of Adaptive Homes, a company devoted to allowing individuals to "age in place."
