Obamas to visit Mount Desert Island

Jul 10, 2010

Washington, D.C. — President Barack Obama and his family will visit Maine next weekend, traveling to Mount Desert Island on Friday, July 16, and staying through Sunday, July 18, according to a press release from Congresswoman Chellie Pingree.

“What an honor that the Obama family has chosen Maine for vacation, when they could have gone anywhere in the country," said Pingree. "I think the Obamas will really enjoy the quiet woods, beautiful coast, wonderful people and everything else that brings thousands of families here every year. Those of us lucky enough to live here know it’s the most beautiful place in the world, and I’m glad we can share it with the first family.”

The Obamas' visit to Maine is a personal family vacation; no public appearances are reportedly scheduled.

A weekend with your family is hardly a vacation.

- Yes, Bush played golf only 18 times before the start of the Iraq war.

Barack "I will not rest" Obama will be taking his 3rd vacation since the beginning of the oil spill and has played golf 11 times in that same period. (Note - Bush played golf 18 times in his 8 years and was hammered for it.)

If this is "not resting" perhaps we need him to take a rest!

Word has it he's coming to Maine to help design the new license plate. Vacationland is being replaced with Taxationland.
