John Bagnulo, PhD.

Join us at the Penobscot Bay YMCA tonight at 6:30 to 8:00 p.m if you are interested in learning how to eat foods that will keep chronic disease genes turned off and how to transition over to a truly human-compatible diet? Nutritionist, John Bagnulo will describe the various interactions between foods and the human genome. These food-gene relationships, over the years, ultimately determine the state of health of our body’s organs and organ systems.

Bagnulo’s lecture will provide an overview of human physiology and how it is being influenced by various aspects of the Western diet. This talk will identify the foods that have the greatest impact on the endocrine, digestive, cardiovascular system and more. Learn why grains can elevate unhealthy LDL patterns more than eggs and why dark greens are the most important foods for preventing fractures. You will learn how to become less insulin resistant and reduce inflamation with some basic meal or menu ideas. This talk is sure to forever change the way you look at many foods.

Bagnulo earned a Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina and a Ph.D. in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Maine. He lectures and teaches programs nationally in the area of nutrition and disease prevention and or reversal. Picker Family Resource Center is co-sponsoring this event with the Penobscot Bay YMCA at 116 Union Street in Rockport. For copy of flyer or more info go to: www.pbmc.org/picker
