Noyes in exhibition, competition
Artist Petrea Noyes of Lincolnville is having a noteworthy winter. She was juried into an exhibition that opens Tuesday, Jan. 28, in New York City; and received an Honorable Mention in an art magazine competition.
Noyes’ “Tchin-Tchin,” a digital drawing (inkjet on canvas), was among 63 works selected out of 773 entries from 231 artists for the sixth National Juried Exhibition at New York City’s Prince Street Gallery, 530 West 25th St. The show was juried by Lois Dodd, a longtime seasonal resident of Cushing who will deliver the Norma Shatan Memorial Lecture Friday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m. at the nonprofit gallery.
Noyes’ “Legends of the Fall” won an honorable mention in the Digital category of The Artist’s Magazine’s 2013 All Media Art Competition. There were well more than 2,000 entries in the competition overall.
