South Thomaston — The chairman of the South Thomaston Board of Selectmen said Dec. 19 that he will not seek another term.

Jeffrey Northgraves said his current term expires March 26, 2013, at the annual town meeting.

Northgraves has served three full terms of three years each and one partial term for a year.

"It's time to let other folks step in," he said in a phone interview.

He said the town should consider having a town manager form of government because of the complexities of federal and state laws.

Nomination papers for the selectman's term being vacated by Northgraves can be taken out Dec. 27 and must be returned by Feb. 7, according to the town office.
