North Atlantic Gymnastics Girls place at Maine State Championships!

Congratulations to all the level 3 and level 5 girls who competed in the Maine State Championship meet on Saturday! The competition was hosted by Decal Gymnastics at the Alfond Youth Center in Waterville. Gymnasts from North Atlantic Gymnastics captured both individual and team awards.

For the level 5 competition Meghan Gallagher captured the state title on balance beam with a score of 9.2. Rockport's Marta Denny placed 4th on the event with an 8.475. In addition to the beam title Meghan also placed 2nd in the floor exercise with a 9.2 with Denny in 4th with an 8.7. Meghan and Marta placed 3rd and 4th respectively in the all-around competition.

The level 3 team placed 3rd overall in the team competition just behind Dudziak's Gymnastics of Biddeford and gymNation of Kennebunk. Indiviudally, Lauren Schenk competed in the 5-7 year old division placing 3rd all-around with a 33.725. Lauren's top finish in an individual event was second place on balance beam with an 8.75. She also tied for 3rd on the uneven bars with an 8.0.

Audrey Scott of Hope, Genevieve Tempio-Wilson of Hope, and Leanna Cotton of Thomaston all competed in the 8-9 year old division for level 3. Audrey posted the team high score of 9.2 placing her second on vault. Leanna and Genevieve also placed 4th and 8th. Audrey, Genevieve and Leanna all finished the all-around  in 6th, 8th, and 10th respectively.

Kaylee Casa, Eleanor Greer, Ashley Kenniston, Sophie Hall, and Ariel Power all competed in the level 3 10+ age group. Kaylee captured the state championship balance beam title with a score of 9.15. Ashley posted an 8.85 earning 2nd place with Eleanor in 3rd (8.75), Sophie in 4th (8.675), and Ariel in 5th (8.6). Sophie Hall posted our highest vault score with a 9.3 placing her second on the event. Ashley placed 3rd with in the event with a 9.1 and Kaylee in 4th with 9.075. Eleanor was obtained NAGA's highest score in the uneven bars with a 9.05 (3rd place). Kaylee was the top finisher in the all-around with 3rd place (35.325) followed by Eleanor in 4th (35.15), Ashley in 5th (35.05), Sophie in 6th (33.975) and Ariel in 7th with a 33.75.
