North Atlantic Gymnastics Academy Boy's Team Hosts 1st Annual Rock Star Invitational!

Level 4 ages 8-9 year old awards ceremony.

The NAGA boy's team played host to Springer's Gymnastics Center from Ellsworth for the first annual Rock Star Invitational! This was the first home meet ever to be hosted by NAGA at the PenBay YMCA. The meet consisted of athletes ages 6-14 and levels 3-6. The Rock Star theme of the meet was carried throughout the morning beginning with Jimi Hendrix's American anthem to the guitar trophies in the awards ceremony.

Highlight performances of the meet included:

Miles Spear placed first in the level 4 ages 5-7 group with a 47.5 all-around. Miles also captured a first place finish on all six individual events: floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars, and high bar. Parker Dodge and Charlie Nicolet placed second (37.7) and third (37.6) respectively.

Ben Schenk won the level 4 ages 8-9 year olds with a 54.3 all-around followed by Torr Denny (53.9), Ben Craft (53.4) taking 2nd and 3rd. Cameron Hedstrom placed sixth all-around with a 51.3 all-around followed by Owen Berez (47.2), and Noah Thackeray (46.2). Individual event titles were as follows: Ben Craft won floor exercise with a score of 8.9. Torr Denny captures the pommel horse title with an 8.2. Ben Muise of Springer's Gymnastics won still rings with a score of 9.3 with Torr Denny in a tie for second (9.2) and Ben Craft in 3rd with a 9.1.Ben Schenk won vault (9.7), parallel bars (9.8), and high bar (10.2).

The boy's team will be traveling to Bath on Saturday for the Maine State Championships. Wish them luck!
