Noon Music in Lent returns
Camden — The annual Noon Music in Lent series will return to St. Thomas' Episcopal Church for each Friday in the Christian season of Lent. There will be a half-hour concert in the sanctuary of the church, located at 33 Chestnut St., followed by a simple lunch of homemade soup, bread and fruit in the church’s Sun Room.
The performers have agreed to donate the free-will offerings to local organizations including Kno-Wal-Lin Homecare & Hospice, Meals on Wheels, Help Heat Homes (local heating assistance), Camden Area Christian Food Pantry and Legal Assistance for the Elderly.
The concert schedule is as follows: Feb. 15, organist Howard Walen; Feb. 22, the Somerset Consort featuring Diana Brookes Brown playing flute, Lorna S. Russell playing viola da gamba and Carlton T. Russell playing organ with contralto Jane Schroeder; March 1, soprano Kathryn Dermarderosian with Jane Schroeder playing piano and organ; March 8, harpist Millie Crocker and Cy Scofield, playing 12-string guitar; March 15, Kristi Mann playing violoncello with pianist Jane Schroeder; and March 22, organist Douglas Beck.
