No caps, no gowns, dogs allowed at Apprenticeshop graduation

Dec 10, 2013

Rockland — Join The Apprenticeshop Friday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m., as they celebrate the graduation of the Class of 2013.

Apprentices graduating from The Apprenticeshop’s two-year traditional wooden boatbuilding program include Daniel Creisher, Bridget Jividen and Christopher Konecky. Graduates and attendees will gather on the ground floor of the shop to share anecdotes, remembrances, parting gifts and witness the graduates’ “Nailing of the Work Boots” to The Apprenticeshop’s hallowed walls, a graduation tradition since the founding of the school in 1972. WoodenBoat publisher Carl Cramer will share a few words in an informal, keynote address to the fledging boatbuilders.

The event is open to the public and everyone is invited to attend, meet the graduates and the Apprenticeshop staff, and to see the traditional wooden boats for which The Apprenticeshop is known. The event will be held at The Apprenticeshop at 643 Main St.
