New orthodontist sets up shop in Rockport
Rockport — Dr. Douglas Laliberte is bringing the latest technology and types of braces to his new orthodontic practice, Granite Coast Orthodontics.
The office, located at 1056 Commercial St. (Route 1) in Rockport, is expected to open Tuesday, Aug. 21.
Laliberte, originally from Winslow, is a 2003 graduate of Colby College in Waterville and a 2009 graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston and also recently completed his residency at Tufts.
This is Laliberte's first office and most recently has worked as a general dentist in Waterville.
"I enjoyed my time working at the Community Dental Center (in Waterville) and it gave me a strong foundation in treating adults and complex adolescent cases," Laliberte said.
The Rockport office specializes in orthodontic care for both adults and children in a small setting where patient focus is the top priority. Being a younger orthodontist, Laliberte said, he brings the latest techniques and types of braces to the area.
The office offers traditional braces, Invisalign, which are clear removable braces, and Incognito, a type of braces that go behind the teeth so they are completely hidden from view.
Incognito is a nice solution for adults, Laliberte said, because many adults choose not to get their teeth aligned because they do not want to wear braces. But these make it so no one knows except the person wearing them.
"I'm really excited about opening in this area and provide a patient focus where people are excited to go see the orthodontist," he said.
Laliberte welcomes anyone who wishes to tour the facility to stop by for a visit. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays to Thursdays. Granite Coast Orthodontics can be reached by calling 470-7466. For more information, log on to granitecoastortho.com.
