Nativity Lutheran Church to Host the Movie: For the Bible Tells Me So on October 21st
“Does God really condemn loving homosexual relationships?...Is the Bible an excuse to hate? These questions and more are answered in the award-winning documentary which [takes the audience] through the experiences of 5 very normal, Christian American families—including those of former House Majority Leader Richard Gephardt and Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson…” The movie examines Biblical teachings along with various attitudes and interpretations of what the Bible says on the subject of homosexuality. The movie and the discussion, following the movie, is part of Nativity’s focus to become a more inclusive church and increase community awareness of the dynamics of Gay/Lesbian issues. In future gatherings Nativity plans to highlight the issues that surround ageism and mental/physical handicaps.
The movie starts at 1:00 pm, Sunday October 21st, in the Fellowship Hall. It is FREE and open to everyone. Nativity Lutheran Church is located at 179 Old County Road, Rockport. There will be refreshments and a discussion following the movie. If you would like to learn more about Nativity, you can find us on the web: www.nativitylutheran.net
