PORTLAND, Maine – Executive Chef Shelby Stevens from Natalie’s, Relais & Chateaux Camden Harbour Inn, Camden, earned top honor during last night’s  Signature Event at the Prime Mercedez Benz Dealership in Scarborough. The sold-out Maine Restaurant Week event, sponsored by Double Cross Vodka, had Maine bartenders and pastry chefs competing. Some of Maine finest top mixologist's from fine dining restaurants from towns including Portland, Freeport, Brunswick, Bath and Camden crafted unique and original creations for the Signature Event.

Steven's drink, “Pine-tini"  was inspired by Pine, Doublecross Vodka and Mandarin Juice. The cocktail was made with vodka, ginger liqueur, cardamom simple syrup, clementine juice, lime juice, lime zest and a pinch of ground cardamom. It was topped with a pine foam made by steeping pine needles in hot water, like a tea. That liquid is then mixed with gelatin and placed in a charger so that it can be dispensed as a foam.  All cocktails were judged by professional judges Greg Bell top mixologist from Michelin star rated Spotted Pig New York, Susan Axelrod and Andrew Volk.
