Nana

Our pet picks of the week are Nana and Cass. Nana is our most recent graduate from our K-9 Corrections program at the Maine State Prison. This beautiful, 2-year-old Rottweiler mix has spent the last several weeks living at the prison 24/7 learning basic commands from her inmate/dog handlers under the supervision of dog trainer Marie Finnegan from K-9 Solutions Dog Training. Now that Nana has successfully completed the program she is ready to go home. She gets along with some dogs but since she isn't really fond of sharing her toys or food, she would probably prefer a home where she is the only dog. Despite her size, Nana is convinced she is a lap dog. She loves her people! If you are interested in Nana, stop by the shelter and meet this beauty in person.

Cass is a very handsome long-haired neutered male feline around four years old. He came into the shelter as a stray from Port Clyde. He is such a sweetheart. He gets along fine with other cats and with kids too. Cass isn't just a looker he is a talker too. If you want a lovable, "chatty Cathy" then come in and meet Cass.

The shelter is bursting at the seams with dogs, cats, kittens, rabbits, guinea pigs and the like. It's a perfect time to find your new best friend at PMHSKC.
