Jan 25, 2014

Rockland — Rosalie Gerut and Hankus Netsky, world-class musicians from the Boston area, are coming to Midcoast Maine to perform a concert titled Music of the Jewish Experience. The concert, set for Sunday, April 6, at 4 p.m. at the historic Strand Theatre, is being co-sponsored by Adas Yoshuron Synagogue.

The concert will feature soulful and stirring Hebrew, Yiddish and Ladino music. Musicians Eden MacAdam-Somer, Andrew Blickenderfer, and Henry Goldberg will join Gerut and Netsky on stage.

A portion of the proceeds of this event will benefit Area Interfaith Outreach. AIO is an all-volunteer organization that works on food insecurity and poverty in Knox County and is supported by local faith communities, individuals, businesses and charities with contributions of food and money.

General admission tickets — $25, $15 for those younger than 19 — are on sale now at rocklandstrand.com.
