Multiple agencies respond to Hope accident
Hope — Hope Volunteer Fire Department, Camden First Aid, and a Knox County Sheriffs' deputy responded to a single-vehicle accident in Hope on Monday, Sept. 24. The accident was reported around 7:20 a.m.
A 32-year-old woman and her 10-year-old daughter were traveling on Seacoast Road when the steering failed in their silver Nissan Altima, causing the vehicle to veer right and onto the shoulder where it was "sucked into the soft dirt," according to Knox County Sheriff's Deputy John Palmer. The vehicle landed in a deep ditch along the road.
Both mother and daughter refused ambulance transport at the scene. Palmer said a warning was issued for an expired inspection sticker.
