Mixed media painting workshop set
Rockland — Beginning on Friday, Feb. 7, the Farnsworth Art Museum will host a six-week mixed media painting workshop led by Ingrid Ellison. The workshop will take place consecutive Fridays through March 21, except for Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon. in the museum’s Gamble Education Center, at the corner of Union and Grace streets.
During this workshop, participants will learn a variety of two-dimensional techniques to use in creating their own works of art. Composition, color choice and picking a subject or theme will be covered. Materials covered may include water- and acrylic-based paints and inks, drawing, transfers, stencils, prints and collage. Students are encouraged to have a sketchbook in which they can practice each technique while working on a larger support.
No painting or drawing experience is necessary. Fee for this workshop is $159, $135 for museum members. For more information or to register, call the Education Department at 596-6457 or visit farnsworthmuseum.org/education.
