Mississippi Heat in Midcoast Maine
Rockland — The weekly blues series continues May 5 with a 7 p.m. show by Mississippi Heat. Admission at the door will be $15.
The multi-member Mississippi Heat fills the stage with traditional Chicago blues, whether golden standards or fresh originals true to the genre. Band leader, harp player and composer Pierre Lacocque's vision has not wavered since he founded the band in 1991. Mississippi Heat has always had an ensemble sound; all its musicians are featured and welcome to contribute on stage and on recordings — the latest of which has just been released.
Upcoming in the weekly series are: May 12, Diane Blue ($10); May 19, Lydia Warren ($10); May 26, Alexis P. Suter Band ($15). Advance blues festival tickets are $25 for either day or $50 for the full weekend.
