Miller Mania raffle supports playground fundraiser
Waldoboro — Students at Miller School in Waldoboro are actively helping fund improvements to their playground, which is the only public playground for school-age children in town.
Each of the 18 classes chose a theme and children brought in items for class baskets. The baskets range in value from $15 to $75, though some have priceless items specially created by the children.
Tickets are selling for $1 each or six for $5 and are available through the Miller School PTO. The top prize is an Amazon Kindle HD worth $199 and then there is the possibility to win one of the 18 classroom baskets with themes such as winter fun (where a disc sled serves as the basket), baking, reading, gardening, toys, rainy day activities, arts and crafts, sports, Mexican, and more.
Drawing for these baskets will be on Dec. 7 during Miller Mania, a public silent auction and bucket raffle event in the school’s gym from 6-8 p.m.
