Rockport — In Good Company and Terra Optima Farm invites the public to reserve seats for an evening of fine dining and support two causes for dessert this Nov. 1. Award-winning chef Melody Wolfertz promises a four course, farm-to-table Mighty Fine Meal. Proceeds from the evening go to support Teen Ag at Aldermere Farm in Rockport and the Financial Aid Fund of Hatchet Cove Farm Community Supported Agriculture program in Warren. Teen Ag is a social entrepreneurial program that teaches progressive farming methods to teenage boys and girls, ages 14-19, while also providing healthy, locally-sourced agricultural products to local food pantries and the local school system. Teen Ag is a program of Aldermere Farm and Erickson Fields Preserve, both owned and managed by Maine Coast Heritage Trust, which conserves and stewards Maine's coastal lands and islands for their renowned scenic beauty, outdoor recreational opportunities, ecological diversity and working landscapes.

The Financial Aid Fund at Hatchet Cove Farm helps struggling Midcoast families afford the fresh, healthy food of the CSA program. Hatchet Cove Farm CSA in Warren produces organic vegetables for more than 200 families and, in 2012, the Financial Aid Fund helped more than 30 families afford their CSA shares with grants ranging from $40 to $350. The Financial Aid Fund has not only made healthy foods available to a wider range of families than ever before, but it supports the very farms that make a strong local food system for all Midcoast residents.

Seating for the evening begins at 5 p.m. based on reservation and includes an all-inclusive meal for $50 (wine, tax and tip not included). Locally-sourced ingredients are donated by Terra Optima Farm Market of Thomaston and Hatchet Cove Farm as well as some items grown by Teen Ag crews.

Seating is limited and on a first-come basis. To make a reservation, call 593-9110. In Good Company is located at 415 Main St. in Rockland. The restaurant will be closed to general seating and the normal menu for the evening.
