Rockland — The public is invited to Mid-Coast School of Technology’s annual SkillsUSA Competition Night and Open House, Wednesday, Jan. 16.

Competitions will be ongoing from 4 to 7 p.m., with closing ceremonies to follow.

SkillsUSA is a leadership organization partnering students, teachers, and industry to ensure America will continue to have a skilled workforce. In the process, SkillsUSA helps each student excel in confidence, leadership, and responsibility.

Winners of in-house competitions will have the opportunity to participate at the state level in March held in Bangor, and those winners may compete nationally in Kansas City, Mo. in June. At the state and national levels, students have the opportunity to win scholarships, tools, and other trade-related prizes.

Throughout the evening, students and staff will be offering fundraisers in the forms of a silent auction, food sales, 50/50 raffle, Yankee Candles, and Interstate Batteries.
