The moon on Feb. 10 gave stargazers a triple treat with a type of lunar eclipse, a snow moon and a comet. It is shown above Rockland harbor around 7 p.m.

SNOW MOON

For Shubra

A foot of heavy shoveling snow

every time clouds

let down their

heavy white tears

after shoveling, supper

a walk in crisp moonlight

wearing boots - not sandals

kids up the street sliding

something I did at age ten

and came back

to the same warm house

with moon looking in on

a warm carpet

where we now have

bare spruce wood

Thai elephants

calla lillies

from the supermarket

our two tiny tigers

prefer the heat

after years outside

someday, in full moon

you will meet them
