Midcoast Ice Cats, Camden Hills jayvees skate into seasons
Rockport — The Midcoast Ice Cats, a cooperative high school ice hockey club team, and the Camden Hills Regional High School jayvee squad are in the midst of their regular seasons. In fact, the Midcoast teams met on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Midcoast Recreation Center to begin their respective campaigns.
Both teams are coed.
The Ice Cats include players from Oceanside of Rockland/Thomaston, Medomak Valley of Waldoboro, Belfast, Morse of Bath, Camden Hills, Mount View of Thorndike and Nokomis of Newport and several homeschooled/private school student-athletes.
The 'Cats, coached by Mike Schroeder, include Preston Spear, Nathan Hersom and Zachary Bernard of Oceanside; Ken Scheimreif, Kane Scheimreif, Bailey McCaffery, Rory McCaffery and Oliver Fenn of Medomak Valley; Sam Kulikowski of Belfast; Jake Haddock, Cole Bibl and Myles Day of Morse; Nathan Lord and Ralf Rolfe of Mount View; Breac Baker of Nokomis; and Elliott Spear of Rockland and Conner Andrews of Damariscotta, both homeschooled.
The Camden Hills jayvees, led by head coach Jesse Simko and assistant coach Asa Peats, include senior Sean Beacham; sophomores Katherine Orne, Patrick Beacham, Caleb Stern, Gunnar Hilt, Nick Tassoni, Riley Andrews, Jack Uhll and Zachary Hand; and freshmen Connor Davis, Katie Morse, Will Davee and Matt Morse.
Both teams play home games at MRC in Rockport.
