Memorial Day events in the Midcoast

Photo by: Beth A. Birmingham The Rockland Memorial Day parade kicks off at 10:30 a.m. and will stop at Chapman Park on the corner of Main and Park streets for a ceremony before continuing on Main Street.

Appleton

Service at Miller Cemetery in Burkettville will begin at 10 a.m.

The Pine Grove Cemetery Service will start at 11 a.m. Participants and observers should meet at Gushee’s Corner at 10:45 a.m. to walk into the cemetery.

Camden

Public Landing ceremony at 9 a.m. will be followed by the parade at 9:30 a.m. Parade begins at Route 1 and John Street with stops at the Conway Monument, Village Green and "Wall of Names" as well as Harbor Park's Civil War statue. A ceremony at Mountain View Cemetery is scheduled to begin at approximately 10:15 a.m.

In case of inclement weather, a combined Camden and Rockport ceremony will take place at Camden Hills Regional High School at 11 a.m.

Lincolnville

The parade begins at 1 p.m. in front of Lincolnville Community Library with a stop at the Veterans' Honor Roll monument. There will be a ceremony at Lincolnville Central School at 1:30 p.m. and a ceremony at Frohock Bridge, Lincolnville Beach, at 2 p.m.

In case of inclement weather, a ceremony will take place at Lincolnville Central School at 1 p.m.

Rockland

Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. from Boston Financial parking lot. Units participating in the parade will assemble at Boston Financial at 9:30 a.m. The parade will travel along Main Street stopping at Chapman Park for the Memorial Day Ceremony.

The parade will travel down Main Street and end at the Intersection of Route 1 and Route 17.

Rockport

The parade starts at 11 a.m., next to Rockport Post Office, and includes the high school band, police and fire vehicles, antique cars, Brownies Scouts, Girl and Boy Scouts and Cubs, Lincolnville Band and more. For more information, call David Barry at 975-0305.

In case of inclement weather, a combined Camden and Rockport ceremony will take place at Camden Hills Regional High School at 11 a.m.

Thomaston

On May 27, American Legion Post 37 will conduct a ceremony at 9 a.m. at the Main Street Mall. Following that, an additional ceremony will be held at Village Cemetery.

St. George

Parade begins at 9 a.m. at Tenants Harbor Baptist Church. For those wishing to participate in the parade, meet at 8:30 a.m. The parade will travel through town, stopping for a wreath tossing ceremony at the harbor and a ceremony in front of the American Legion.

Warren

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Memorial monument on Western Avenue.
