Megunticook Lake Race - Sunday, July 29th
Camden- Water will fly at the start of the 37th Annual Megunticook Lake Race on Sunday, July 29th. The race is sponsored by the Camden Parks and Recreation Department, and offers classes for most types of canoes, kayaks including sea kayaks, and stand up paddle boards and paddlers of all ages and abilities are welcome.
Registration on race day is from 8:30 to 9:30 am at Barrett’s Cove Park at the south end of Megunticook Lake. There will be a pre-race briefing at 9:45 am on the beach, and the race will start at 10:00 am. The 5 mile course starts opposite the Rte. 52 Boat Launch Ramp and covers approximately 5 miles up the length of Megunticook and Norton Pond, finishing at the public beach on Norton Pond in Lincolnville.
