Thomaston — The debut of the Oceanside High School club wrestling team will happen this season and the Mariners are looking for potential mat athletes.

Mariner coach Jason Yates will meet with prospective wrestlers at both Oceanside schools this week — at Oceanside East (Rockland) on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 1:30 p.m. and at Oceanside West (Thomaston) on Friday, Nov. 16, also at 1:30 p.m.

Yates, who was the middle school coach last year, will coach both the high school and middle school this season.

There also will be informal practices (Thomaston) from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays, Nov. 17 and Nov. 24 at Oceanside West for potential student-athletes looking to tryout or to take in a practice.

The official first day of practice is slated for Monday, Nov. 19, time and venue to be determined.
